Exploring Rabat: The Imperial Capital If you begin in Rabat, Morocco's political heart, your adventure starts at Chellah, a UNESCO World Heritage site blending Roman ruins and an Islamic necropolis. Stroll through Roman streets and marvel at the ancient stonework of this tranquil yet powerful archaeological site.
Next, visit the Hassan Tower, an unfinished minaret that was once planned to be the tallest in the world, standing 44 meters tall. It remains one of Morocco’s most recognizable landmarks. Just across the esplanade, the Mohammed V Mausoleum awaits with its exquisite Moroccan architecture, featuring intricate zellij tilework. Here lie the tombs of King Mohammed V and his sons, King Hassan II and Prince Abdallah.
Your journey continues with the Oudayas Kasbah, a 12th-century fortress at the mouth of the Bouregreg River. Wander its blue-and-white alleys and explore the Andalusian Gardens, offering stunning ocean views and a peaceful retreat.
Casablanca: The Vibrant Metropolis In the latter half of the Casablanca and Rabat Tour, head to Casablanca, Morocco’s economic hub. Begin with a visit to the Royal Palace, an architectural masterpiece reflecting Moroccan artistry. Then, dive into the lively atmosphere of the Central Market, where local traders sell everything from spices to fresh seafood.
Explore the Habous District, where traditional Moroccan souks blend with French colonial influences, showcasing Casablanca’s unique charm. Continue along the Aïn Diab Corniche, a scenic coastal promenade where the Atlantic waves meet rocky shores.
The highlight of the tour is the stunning Hassan II Mosque, home to the tallest minaret in the world at 210 meters. Its interior, adorned with Murano chandeliers, marble floors, and intricate wood carvings, offers a glimpse into Morocco’s spiritual and artistic grandeur. If time permits, you’ll also have the option of a guided interior tour to fully appreciate this architectural wonder.
