Yes, Egypt is a safe country to visit for tourists. However, as with any travel destination, it's important to take certain precautions to ensure your safety and security. Here are some tips to consider:
Stay informed: Stay updated on current events and any travel advisories or warnings issued by your government.

How much does a Nile cruise cost in 2026?

Egypt For Travel's Nile cruise prices in 2026 start from $549 per person (Radamis II Princess Du Nil, full board, private Egyptologist guide, all entrance fees included) and reach $999 per person for the MS Mayfair, the only Nile cruise ship where every cabin has a private veranda. The price you pay determines the quality of your cabin and onboard facilities — not the quality of the guide or access to the temples. Every ship in the fleet visits the same Valley of the Kings, Karnak Temple, Edfu, Kom Ombo, and Philae. Competitors listing Nile cruises from $300 to $400 typically exclude the Egyptologist guide, entrance fees, or transfers. Egypt For Travel's prices include all of these from the price shown.

Is a 3-night or 4-night Nile cruise better?

The 4-night / 5-day Luxor to Aswan cruise is better for first-time visitors. It starts in Luxor — where the temple density is highest (Valley of the Kings, Karnak, Luxor Temple, Hatshepsut Temple) — and sails south to Aswan covering Edfu and Kom Ombo along the way. You end in Aswan with the option to visit Abu Simbel before flying home. The 3-night / 4-day Aswan to Luxor cruise is better if you have already visited Luxor's west bank sites, or if your international flight departs from Cairo and you need to fly Luxor to Cairo at the end. Egypt For Travel recommends the 4-night Luxor to Aswan direction for most travelers combining the cruise with a Cairo stay.

What is the best time of year for a Nile cruise?

October to April is the best time — temperatures of 22 to 30 degrees Celsius in Luxor and Aswan make temple visits comfortable. December and January are peak season with the most pleasant weather and clearest light. May to September offers prices typically 20 to 30 percent lower but temperatures reach 38 to 42 degrees in Luxor and Aswan. Egypt For Travel schedules all summer cruises with 06:30 morning temple starts to complete sightseeing before the midday heat. Book 4 to 8 weeks ahead for October to April departures. Christmas, New Year, and Easter require booking 2 to 3 months ahead.

What are the different types of nile cruises And the check-in time?

Various Nile cruises cater to different preferences:
1- Luxury Nile Cruises: Lavish amenities, gourmet dining, and private balconies.
2- Standard Nile Cruises: Comfortable with basic facilities like pools and restaurants.
2- Budget Nile Cruises: Cost-effective, offering simple accommodations.
4- Dahabiya Nile Cruises: Intimate, personalized, and ideal for exploring unique spots. Check-in times vary but generally range from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, contingent on the cruise operator.

Are the shore excursions on a Nile cruise private or in a group?

Every shore excursion booked through Egypt For Travel is 100 percent private. You have your own licensed Egyptologist guide in your chosen language and your own private air-conditioned vehicle — never a shared coach with other cruise passengers. This is the fundamental difference between booking through Egypt For Travel and booking excursions through the ship's own programme. On ship-organised tours, all passengers join a large mixed-nationality group. Through Egypt For Travel, the guide's full attention is on you and your travel companions for the entire visit. The temples visited are identical — the experience is completely different.

Can I add Abu Simbel to my Nile cruise?

Yes — Abu Simbel is available as a day excursion from Aswan at the end of your cruise. The road convoy departs Aswan at 04:00 AM, arrives at Abu Simbel by 07:30 for a 2-hour visit to the twin temples of Ramesses II and Nefertari, and returns to Aswan by 14:00. Approximately $65 per person. Abu Simbel by short domestic flight from Aswan (30 minutes each way) is also available for approximately $180 to $200 per person return. Egypt For Travel strongly recommends Abu Simbel for anyone with one additional day after the cruise. Confirm at booking.
