Is the Radamis II Princess Du Nil Worth It?
Yes — if you want the complete Nile cruise experience at the lowest possible price. The Radamis II delivers everything that matters on a Nile cruise: a private licensed Egyptologist guide at every temple, full board included, a clean cabin with panoramic Nile windows, a swimming pool, and a spa. You visit the same Valley of the Kings and the same Karnak Temple as passengers on ships costing $1,200 per person. The difference is in the cabin size, the number of bars and lounges, and the onboard atmosphere — not in the quality of the sightseeing. If your priority is Egypt’s temples rather than the ship’s facilities, the Radamis II is an outstanding choice at an outstanding price.
Who Is the Radamis II Princess Du Nil Best For?
✓ Budget-conscious travelers who want the full Nile cruise temple itinerary without overpaying for facilities they will not use.
✓ First-time Egypt visitors combining this cruise with a Cairo package and keeping the total trip cost under $1,000.
✓ Families with children who need full board, a pool, and flexible children pricing more than premium cabin amenities.
✓ Solo travelers wanting a private guide experience on the Nile at a price that works for a single budget.
✓ Travelers over 60 who simply want to see Egypt’s greatest sites comfortably without paying for nightlife or gym facilities.
✓ Anyone on their first Nile cruise who wants to experience the route before deciding whether to upgrade on a future trip.
Who Should NOT Book the Radamis II?
✗ Honesty matters to us more than the booking. Do not book the Radamis II if you want a spa with daily treatments, a beauty salon, a gymnasium, multiple bars, or the atmosphere of a 5-star deluxe ship. This is a budget cruise. The cabins are comfortable but not large. The dining room is good but not fine dining. If you want bathtub cabins and UV panoramic windows at a budget price, consider the A Sara Nile Cruise ($529, same price, higher cabin quality). If you want a step up in onboard experience, the King of Thebes at $599 gives you a renovated 4-star ship with reading room, fitness room, and more facilities. If you want genuine luxury, the M/S Nile Paradise from $699 or the M/S Mayfair from $975 are the right choices.
Egypt For Travel Expert Assessment
“We have operated the Radamis II for years and the feedback from our guests is consistent: they came for the temples and they were not disappointed. The Valley of the Kings, Karnak, Edfu, Kom Ombo, and Philae are the same whether you pay $529 or $1,499. What changes at higher prices is the ship’s atmosphere and cabin comfort — not the quality of your Egyptologist guide or the access to the sites. For a traveler whose Egypt budget is $1,000 total including Cairo, the Radamis II is the answer. We book it with confidence.”

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Radamis II Princess Du Nil a luxury cruise?
No — and we say this with confidence, not apology. The Radamis II Princess Du Nil is a budget Nile cruise. It is clean, comfortable, properly maintained, and well-run. But it does not have a beauty salon, gymnasium, multiple bars, or the large cabins of a 5-star deluxe ship. What it has is exactly what a first-time Nile cruise passenger needs: a swimming pool, full board dining, panoramic Nile-view cabin windows, a spa, and a licensed Egyptologist guide for every temple visit. If you want luxury, our recommended upgrades are the M/S Nile Paradise (5-star deluxe from $699), the M/S Royal Viking (Jacuzzi suites from $699), or the M/S Mayfair (ultra deluxe from $975).
What is the best time to book the Radamis II Nile cruise?
The Nile cruise season runs year-round but peak season is October to April when temperatures are cooler and comfortable for sightseeing (18–28°C). This is also when the Radamis II books out fastest — particularly December, January, and Easter week. The summer months (June–August) are significantly cheaper but temperatures in Luxor and Aswan reach 40°C+, which makes outdoor temple visits physically demanding. Our recommendation: book October to April for the best experience, or July to September for the lowest prices. Book at least 4–8 weeks in advance for peak season to secure your preferred departure date and cabin type.
Are the Nile cruise tours private or in a group?
Every shore excursion on the Radamis II booked through Egypt For Travel is 100% private. You have your own licensed Egyptologist guide in your language and your own private air-conditioned vehicle — not a shared coach with other passengers. This is a specific and important difference between booking directly through Egypt For Travel versus booking through the cruise ship’s own group excursion programme. On ship-organised excursions, you join a large group of all nationalities with a single guide. Through Egypt For Travel, your guide is dedicated to you and your travel companions only. The temples visited are identical — the experience is completely different.

Which Departure Should I Choose — Luxor or Aswan?
The 4-night Monday departure from Luxor is recommended for most first-time Nile cruise passengers. The pace is unhurried and the southbound scenery — sailing toward Aswan as the Nile narrows and the desert cliffs close in — is spectacular. The 3-night Friday departure from Aswan is ideal if you are already in Aswan, arriving from Abu Simbel, or have a shorter schedule. Both directions visit the identical temples. Contact us and we will advise based on your overall Egypt itinerary.
