M/S Mayfair Nile Cruise 2026 — Review, Itinerary & Prices | Private Veranda Every Cabin | Award-Winning Flagship | from $999
Overview
Bottom line: The M/S Mayfair is Egypt For Travel’s award-winning flagship Nile cruise ship — the benchmark against which every other vessel in the fleet is measured. It was conceived as the first modern luxury Nile cruise ship and remains the only ship in Egypt For Travel’s fleet where every single cabin, from the most basic Deluxe to the Executive Suite, has its own private veranda or French window with balcony rail. You do not need to pay extra for a balcony on the Mayfair — it is standard in every room. That single feature, combined with a bathtub in every cabin, a tea and coffee tray in every cabin, award-winning service, and premium bedding, makes the Mayfair the finest overall Nile cruise experience in Egypt For Travel’s fleet at its price point. At $999 per person on the Monday/Friday departure schedule, the M/S Mayfair is the definitive choice for travelers who want the private veranda experience as standard — not as a suite-only upgrade.

Is the M/S Mayfair Worth the Premium?
Yes — if the ship experience matters as much as the temples. Every Nile cruise ship visits the same Valley of the Kings and the same Karnak Temple. The Mayfair’s $999 price versus a standard ship at $599 does not buy you better temples — it buys you a fundamentally different on-board experience. Standing on your own private veranda watching the Nile and the desert cliffs pass in the early morning light while you drink coffee from your in-cabin tea tray — that is a Mayfair experience that no other ship in Egypt For Travel’s fleet can match as standard. On every other ship at this price, a private outdoor space is either unavailable or reserved only for the most expensive suite. On the Mayfair, the private veranda or French window with balcony rail is standard in every single cabin. The bathtub in every cabin and the in-cabin tea and coffee tray complete an on-board comfort level that justifies the Mayfair’s position as Egypt For Travel’s award-winning flagship. The Executive Suite adds premium bedding, elevated personal service, and enhanced furnishings for travelers who want the very best of everything. If this is a once-in-a-lifetime Egypt trip, the Mayfair is the right investment.
Who Is the M/S Mayfair Best For?
- Travelers for whom the ship experience is as important as the temples — if you want to remember the Nile cruise itself, not just the sites, the Mayfair is the ship. The private veranda in every cabin means the Nile is always accessible from your own outdoor space throughout the cruise, not just from a shared deck.
- Honeymooners on Monday departures wanting the most romantic Nile cruise experience available. The Executive Suite with private veranda at sunset over the Nile is incomparable. Egypt For Travel can arrange honeymoon cabin decoration, champagne, and rose petals at booking — mention your honeymoon when you book.
- Anniversary and special occasion travelers for whom the Nile cruise is the centrepiece of the celebration, not just a transfer between sites.
- Experienced Nile cruise travelers returning to Egypt who have previously sailed on standard or mid-range ships and want the next level — the private veranda and bathtub as standard represent a tangible upgrade that is immediately apparent on boarding.
- Travelers who specifically want a bathtub and a private outdoor space as standard — not as an expensive upgrade confined to the most expensive suite category. On the Mayfair, these are included in the base Deluxe cabin at $999.
- Travelers who value the in-cabin tea and coffee tray — the ability to make your own tea or coffee on your own private veranda while watching the Nile at sunrise is the Mayfair moment that guests remember longest after returning home.
Who Should NOT Book the M/S Mayfair?
- If budget is a genuine constraint, the M/S Nile Paradise ($699, Mon/Fri) offers bathtub cabins and a Master Suite with private balcony — approaching Mayfair quality at $300 per person less, with the same Monday/Friday departure schedule.
- If a Jacuzzi, sauna, or beauty salon is a priority on the Monday/Friday schedule, the JAZ Regent ($1,099, Mon/Fri) offers these additional wellness facilities at $100 more than the Mayfair.
- If a suite-only ship with a maximum of 40 guests is the priority, the MS Terramar ($999, Mon/Fri) offers 20 suites only, Aurora Senses bathroom amenities, a doctor on call 24 hours, and the January 2025 renovation — at the same $999 price on the same Monday/Friday schedule.
- If a private step-out terrace (not a French window) in every suite is non-negotiable, and Thursday departures are acceptable, the Steigenberger Senator ($1,899, Thu/Mon) offers this feature in all 17 suites with maximum 34 guests.
Egypt For Travel Expert Assessment
"The Mayfair is the ship we recommend when a guest says: ‘I want the best.’ Not the most facilities — the best experience. The private veranda in every cabin is genuinely transformative. Watching the Egyptian desert pass from your own outdoor space as you sail south toward Aswan is a different kind of travel than sitting behind a cabin window. The bathtub and the in-cabin tea tray complete a level of on-board comfort that sets the Mayfair apart from everything else on the Monday schedule at $999. The Executive Suite adds premium bedding, elevated personal attention from the crew, and enhanced in-cabin furnishings that feel genuinely like a 5-star hotel. As Egypt For Travel’s award-winning flagship — the first modern luxury Nile cruise ship — the Mayfair earns its position every Monday departure."

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes the M/S Mayfair the best Nile cruise ship?
The M/S Mayfair holds two distinctions that no other ship in Egypt For Travel’s fleet can claim. First, it is the only ship where every cabin — even the base Deluxe — has a private veranda or French window with balcony rail. On every other ship in the fleet, a private outdoor space is either unavailable or available only in the most expensive suite categories. On the Mayfair, it is included as standard in all 72 cabins. Every guest — regardless of cabin category — can step outside and experience the Nile directly from their own private outdoor space. Second, it is the award-winning flagship that established the concept of the modern luxury Nile cruise ship. Its standards of housekeeping, food quality, and personal service set the reference point for the entire fleet. Combined with a bathtub in every cabin, an in-cabin tea and coffee tray, and 16 Executive Suites with elevated personal service — the Mayfair genuinely earns its flagship position.
Is the M/S Mayfair good for a honeymoon?
Yes — the M/S Mayfair is Egypt For Travel’s primary honeymoon recommendation for the Monday/Friday departure schedule among ships with a private outdoor space in every cabin. The Executive Suite with private veranda gives honeymooners their own outdoor Nile space — watching the sun rise over the desert from your own private terrace on the morning you arrive at Aswan is the defining Mayfair honeymoon moment. Egypt For Travel can arrange complimentary honeymoon cabin decoration (rose petals, candles, personalised card), champagne or wine on arrival, and a special welcome note — mention your honeymoon at booking and we will arrange everything. The Mayfair departs every Monday from Luxor, making it ideal for travelers arriving in Luxor on Sunday or Monday. Contact Egypt For Travel on WhatsApp +20 155 555 2466 or email [email protected].
What is the difference between the Deluxe cabin and the Executive Suite on the M/S Mayfair?
Both the Deluxe cabin (56 available) and the Executive Suite (16 available) on the M/S Mayfair include: private veranda or French window with balcony rail, bathtub and shower en-suite, satellite TV with Wi-Fi, telephone, safe deposit box, tea and coffee tray throughout, hairdryer, and individually controlled air conditioning. The Executive Suite additionally offers: larger overall space, premium bedding, elevated personal service from a dedicated crew team throughout the cruise, and enhanced in-cabin furnishings and amenities. For travelers who want the full Mayfair veranda and bathtub experience at the best price, the Deluxe cabin is exceptional value. For guests who want the very best of everything — including premium service attention and premium bedding — the Executive Suite is the right choice. Contact Egypt For Travel for current Executive Suite pricing and availability on your preferred Monday departure date.
M/S Mayfair vs MS Terramar at $999 on Monday/Friday — which should I choose?
Both the M/S Mayfair and the MS Terramar are priced at $999 and sail Monday/Friday — they are the two flagship luxury options on this schedule. The key difference is the on-board concept. Choose the M/S Mayfair ($999) if: You want a private veranda or French window in every cabin as standard — the Mayfair’s defining feature. You value the award-winning flagship status and established reputation. A bathtub and tea tray in every cabin are priorities. You want 72 cabins with a lively, fully equipped ship. Choose the MS Terramar ($999) if: An all-suite ship with no standard cabins (20 suites only) is the priority. The January 2025 renovation is important — the Terramar is the most recently refitted ship in the fleet. A doctor on call 24 hours is a factor. Maximum 40 guests and boutique Sunrise hotel-group management appeal to you. Both ships are exceptional on the Monday/Friday schedule at $999. About the M/S Mayfair Nile Cruise
The M/S Mayfair is Egypt For Travel’s ultra deluxe 5-star award-winning flagship Nile cruise ship, operating on the Monday/Friday departure schedule between Luxor and Aswan. Conceived as the first modern luxury Nile cruise ship, the Mayfair carries 72 cabins — 56 Deluxe Cabins and 16 Executive Suites — with a private veranda or French window with balcony rail as standard in every single cabin. No other ship in Egypt For Travel’s fleet offers this as a standard feature in every category. Every cabin also includes a bathtub and shower en-suite and an in-cabin tea and coffee tray. The Executive Suites add premium bedding, elevated personal service, and enhanced furnishings. On-board facilities include an international restaurant, lounge bar, pool bar, outdoor swimming pool, gymnasium, beauty salon, and a doctor on call. Egypt For Travel holds Egyptian Tourism Authority Licence Category A No. 1947 and has operated Nile cruise bookings since 2010. The M/S Mayfair is bookable through Egypt For Travel and its partner brands — all cruises operated directly, not subcontracted.
Why a Private Veranda in Every Cabin Matters
A private outdoor space on a Nile cruise ship is not standard equipment at any price. On the vast majority of ships in Egypt For Travel’s fleet — including ships priced from $549 to $899 — a private outdoor space is either entirely absent or available only in the most expensive suite category. Guests in standard and deluxe cabins on conventional ships experience the Nile through a cabin window only. The M/S Mayfair’s private veranda or French window with balcony rail in every cabin is the feature that makes the Mayfair experience fundamentally different: every guest on this ship, regardless of whether they have booked the Deluxe Cabin or the Executive Suite, can step outside at any time of day or night and experience the Nile directly from their own private outdoor space. The practical significance: watching the Nile at sunrise from your own veranda with a cup of tea from your in-cabin tea tray while the river is still, before the day’s temple visits begin, is not a moment available on any other Egypt For Travel ship at $999 as standard. That is the Mayfair difference. It is why the Mayfair earned its award-winning flagship status as the first modern luxury Nile cruise ship, and why it retains that status today.
M/S Mayfair Prices
All M/S Mayfair rates are quoted in US dollars per person per trip. Payments are also accepted in Euro (EUR) and British Pounds (GBP) at the current exchange rate. Prices vary between summer (May–September) and winter (October–April) seasons. A 50% deposit applies for Christmas, New Year, and Easter departures. Executive Suite pricing is available separately — contact Egypt For Travel to confirm. The Mayfair’s Monday/Friday schedule and its reputation as Egypt For Travel’s flagship means Executive Suites fill early in peak season (October–April) — particularly for Monday Luxor departures in November–February. Contact Egypt For Travel on WhatsApp +20 155 555 2466 or email [email protected] to confirm current pricing and availability for your preferred dates.
