Cairo & Dubai Tour 5 Days 2026 — Pyramids, GEM, Creek & Burj Khalifa
Overview
Five days covers the essentials of both Cairo and Dubai without a single wasted hour. The Cairo and Dubai Tour is Egypt For Travel’s most popular short-break two-country itinerary — one day in Cairo for the Pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx, and the Grand Egyptian Museum (opened November 2025, with all 5,398 of Tutankhamun’s artefacts on display), then three days in Dubai covering the historic creek, the old souks, the Burj Khalifa, and the Dubai Mall.
This is the right choice for travelers who have limited annual leave, are combining this with another destination, or want to experience both countries before committing to a longer version. The Cairo leg runs privately with a licensed Egyptologist; the Dubai leg runs as a small group (max 15) as per UAE tour licensing. ETA Licence Category A No. 1947.

Old Dubai vs. New Dubai — Why This Itinerary Shows Both
Most travelers arrive in Dubai expecting modernity and leave surprised by the old city. Day 3 of this itinerary starts in the Bastakiya quarter — a 19th-century Persian merchant district of wind-tower houses, narrow alleys, and art galleries that predates the oil economy by a century — before crossing Dubai Creek on a wooden abra boat, exactly as traders did 100 years ago, to the Gold and Spice Souks. The Gold Souk alone has over 300 shops selling approximately 10 tonnes of gold jewellery at any one time — the largest gold market in the world. Day 4 moves to the other end of the timeline: the Burj Khalifa, the tallest structure on earth, seen from its 124th-floor observation deck, and the Dubai Mall, the world’s largest shopping and entertainment complex by total area. Together, Days 3 and 4 give a complete picture of Dubai that a single day of highlights would miss.
How This Compares to the Other Egypt & Dubai Options
| Program | What’s Added vs. This 5-Day |
|---|---|
| 3-Day Egypt & Dubai | Less Dubai time — minimum viable version |
| This 5-Day ← | Old Dubai + New Dubai both covered, no Abu Dhabi or desert safari |
| 7-Day Best Egypt & Dubai | Adds Abu Dhabi (Sheikh Zayed Mosque + Louvre) + dune dinner desert safari |
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Bastakiya quarter and is it worth the time?
Bastakiya (officially Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood) is Dubai’s oldest surviving residential district, built by Persian merchants from Bastak in the late 19th century. The wind towers (barjeel) on each house are pre-air-conditioning technology — carved to channel prevailing breezes into the rooms below. The district now houses galleries, cafes, and the Dubai Museum inside the original Al Fahidi Fort. It takes approximately 1.5–2 hours to explore properly and gives the single most honest picture of pre-oil Dubai available anywhere in the city. It is genuinely worth the time.
Is the Burj Khalifa visit included?
The Burj Khalifa ‘At the Top’ experience (Level 124, 149 AED per person) is included in some tour tiers and excluded in others. Confirm with Egypt For Travel at booking whether your specific package tier includes the Burj Khalifa ticket or treats it as a payable-locally optional extra.
Do I need a visa for Dubai?
Most Western nationalities (USA, UK, EU, Canada, Australia) enter the UAE visa-free for stays up to 90 days on arrival. Egypt: $25 e-visa or on arrival. See our Egypt Visa Guide 2026.
