Frequently Asked Questions
How does this compare to the 11-Day Egypt and Jordan Luxury Tour?
Same complete 11-day route and the same 2 full days at Petra, but this Standard/Deluxe version uses the Radamis II or MS Mayfair cruise and standard-category hotels, while the Luxury version stays at the Fairmont Nile City in Cairo and sails exclusively on the award-winning MS Mayfair with a private veranda in every cabin. See our 11-Day Egypt and Jordan Luxury Tour for the upgraded version.
Does this tour include Abu Simbel?
Yes — Day 4 includes the full Abu Simbel excursion by road from Aswan before boarding the Nile cruise. Not every Egypt and Jordan combination includes this; it's one of the reasons this itinerary is positioned as the most complete version available.
Do I need separate visas for Egypt and Jordan?
Yes. Egypt: a $25 e-visa or visa on arrival. Jordan: the Jordan Pass ($70–$100), which covers the entry visa and Petra admission. See our Egypt Visa Guide 2026.
Is 11 days enough to see both countries without rushing?
Yes — this is Egypt For Travel's most complete two-country itinerary. Shorter versions (4, 7, or 8 days) require cutting the Nile cruise, Abu Simbel, or a full second day at Petra. Eleven days is the point where nothing meaningful is cut from either country.
Can I upgrade individual parts of this tour without booking the full Luxury version?
Yes — hotel category, cruise ship, and guide language can all be adjusted individually. Contact our team with your preferences for a tailored quote rather than choosing between only the two fixed tiers shown here.

Prices Policy
All prices for the Best Egypt and Jordan Tours are quoted in US dollars per person, based on double, triple, or single occupancy as selected at booking — you can also choose to be invoiced in Euro or GBP at the prevailing exchange rate. Prices vary by season: May–September rates are lower than the October–April high season shown in the Prices tab above, and additional supplements apply during Christmas, New Year, and Easter due to peak demand for both Nile cruise cabins and Petra-area hotels. Once your booking is confirmed and your deposit received, Egypt For Travel guarantees your quoted rate will not change, regardless of later price adjustments on the website. The quoted price already includes all items listed under Inclusions above — there are no hidden site-visit or transport surcharges added after booking.
Departure Tips
Because this itinerary crosses two countries and includes a desert night in Wadi Rum, pack for three distinct environments: light, breathable clothing for Cairo and the Nile cruise (temperatures regularly exceed 30°C outside winter months), a warmer layer for Wadi Rum evenings (desert nights can drop below 10°C even when days are hot), and modest clothing (shoulders and knees covered) for mosque and temple visits in both countries. Bring a valid passport with at least 6 months' remaining validity from your return date — both Egyptian and Jordanian border control check this closely. On your final departure day, avoid booking outbound international flights before 3:00 PM to allow a comfortable buffer after the morning transfer; if you need an earlier flight, tell our team at booking and we'll adjust the final day's schedule. Comfortable closed-toe walking shoes are essential for the Valley of the Kings, Petra's Siq, and the Wadi Rum jeep safari alike.
Children Policy
Infants up to 2 years old travel free of charge when sharing a room and bed with their parents. Children under 6 pay 25% of the adult rate when sharing a room with an extra bed; children under 12 pay 50%; children 12 and older are charged the full adult rate. This applies to one child per room sharing with parents — a maximum of one discounted child per room. On the Nile cruise, children share their parents' cabin at the same rate structure; separate cabins for children are available on request at the applicable adult rate. The Wadi Rum overnight and Petra's uneven walking terrain (including 800 steps to the Monastery, optional) should be considered for very young children — our team can advise on which optional activities to skip for families with toddlers.
Payment Policy
A 25% deposit is required to confirm your booking on the Best Egypt and Jordan Tours; during Christmas and New Year, the required deposit rises to 50% given the high demand on Nile cruise and Wadi Rum camp availability during that period. The remaining balance is due one week before arrival, payable by bank transfer or credit/debit card, or in cash upon arrival in Egypt. We accept Visa, Mastercard, and direct bank transfer (transfer fees, where applicable, are the traveler's responsibility). Prices are locked at the point of deposit payment regardless of later exchange rate movement.
Installment Policy
Egypt For Travel offers installment payment plans over 6, 9, or 12 months for the Best Egypt and Jordan Tours, allowing you to spread the cost ahead of your travel dates. The final balance must be settled before arrival; if any installment plan is not completed in time, the outstanding balance becomes payable in cash or by card upon arrival in Egypt. Contact our team via WhatsApp (+20 155 555 2466) to set up an installment schedule at the time of booking.
Tipping Guide
Tipping is customary in both Egypt and Jordan and reflects appreciation for service, though it is never mandatory. As a general guide for this 11-day itinerary: Egyptologist guide $8–10 per person per day, Jordanian guide $8–10 per person per day, private drivers $4–5 per person per day in each country, Nile cruise housekeeping and restaurant staff $3–5 per person per day (often collected into a shared crew tip box on the final night), felucca/motorboat crew at Philae $2–3 per person, and Wadi Rum Bedouin camp staff $5–8 per person for the overnight stay. These amounts are customary suggestions, not fixed requirements, and can be adjusted based on your experience and group size.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made 61 or more days before arrival incur a 10% charge on the total tour price. Cancellations 31–60 days before arrival incur 20%. Cancellations 15–30 days before arrival incur 50%. Cancellations within 14 days of arrival are charged 100% of the total price. These cancellation fees apply in addition to — and separately from — cancellation charges on domestic flights within Egypt (Cairo–Aswan, Luxor–Cairo) and Jordan (where applicable), which are typically non-refundable once ticketed regardless of the tour's own cancellation window. We recommend travel insurance covering trip cancellation for exactly this reason.
Emergency Cancellation Policy
If your government or airline issues a formal travel advisory due to unforeseen circumstances — war, natural disaster, pandemic, or similar — Egypt For Travel applies a more flexible cancellation policy than the standard terms above. In these cases, you're eligible for a refund or credit toward future travel with us, valid for 12 months from your original booking date. Airline-imposed cancellation fees and any bank surcharges on processed deposits still apply, as these are outside our control, but our own cancellation charges are waived under a confirmed emergency advisory.
