Most visitors give Cairo two days and leave having seen only the Pyramids. This private 5-day trip gives the city the time it deserves: the Pyramids of Giza and the Step Pyramid of Djoser at Saqqara, the oldest stone pyramid in the world; a whole day for the Grand Egyptian Museum and the Egyptian Museum; and a day in medieval Islamic and Coptic Cairo, or on the Mediterranean in Alexandria if you prefer.

What you will see
Giza and Saqqara: the three pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure, the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple, then Saqqara, the vast necropolis of Memphis. Its Step Pyramid of Djoser, built about 2650 BC by the architect Imhotep, is the oldest stone pyramid in the world, surrounded by decorated tombs and the Serapeum, the underground galleries of the sacred Apis bulls.
Two great museums: the Grand Egyptian Museum beside the Pyramids, opened in November 2025, with the complete Tutankhamun collection and a colossal statue of Ramesses II; and the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square, with the Narmer Palette, Old Kingdom masterpieces and the treasures of Tanis.
Islamic and Coptic Cairo, or Alexandria: the Citadel of Saladin and the Muhammad Ali Mosque, the Hanging Church and Ben Ezra Synagogue, and the Khan El-Khalili bazaar; or, as an option, a day in Alexandria with the Qaitbay Citadel, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and the Roman catacombs.

Is 5 days in Cairo too long?
No. Five days lets you see Cairo properly instead of rushing: the Pyramids and Saqqara on one day, the Grand Egyptian Museum and the Egyptian Museum on another, and Islamic and Coptic Cairo, or a day trip to Alexandria, on a third. Most visitors who stay only 2 days never reach Saqqara or the old city.
Should I visit the Grand Egyptian Museum or the Egyptian Museum?
Both, if you can. The Grand Egyptian Museum near the Pyramids has the complete Tutankhamun collection; the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square still has masterpieces such as the Narmer Palette, Old Kingdom statues and the treasures of Tanis. On this trip you visit both on the same day with your guide.

Welcome to Egypt. Our representative meets you inside Cairo International Airport, helps you with the visa, passport control and luggage, and drives you to your hotel in a private air-conditioned car. On the way, you receive your program and pick-up times. The rest of the day is free to rest. Overnight in Cairo.
