Why does Day 11 drive from Fez to Marrakech rather than fly?
The route from Fez to Marrakech by road passes through the Berber villages of Imouzer and Ifrane — a mountain town so Swiss in appearance (pine forests, red-roofed chalets, resident Barbary macaques) that it is literally nicknamed "the Switzerland of Morocco." The drive is a 5–6 hour journey through some of Morocco’s most visually dramatic landscape: the Middle Atlas Mountains. A direct flight would skip all of it. All prices for the 14-Day Egypt Morocco Tour are quoted per person in US dollars based on room occupancy (triple, double, or single) and accommodation tier as shown in the Prices tab. Euro and GBP pricing available on request. May–September rates are the lowest; October–April high-season rates reflect peak demand for Nile cruise cabins, Fez riads, and Marrakech hotels. Christmas, New Year, and Easter carry additional surcharges — December departures in particular require early booking as both Nile cruise and Marrakech hotel availability is limited. Your rate is locked from the moment of deposit receipt. All listed entrance fees are included — no hidden admission charges are added after booking. The Hassan II Mosque interior tour ($15 per person) is excluded from the standard price and can be added on Day 7 or 8 through your local Moroccan guide.
Tips for Departure
On Day 14, avoid booking outgoing international flights before 3:00 PM from Casablanca Mohamed V Airport. For Egypt days: closed-toe walking shoes essential for the Pyramids plateau and all temple sites. For Morocco: the Fez Medina requires the same footwear — its lanes are cobbled, uneven, and often steep. Dress modestly throughout both countries: shoulders and knees covered for mosque visits, madrasas, and the Mausoleum in Rabat. Bring a light jacket for Morocco evenings year-round; the drive from Fez to Marrakech passes through the Atlas Mountains where temperatures drop noticeably even in summer.
